PNJ Engineering Inc. currently seeking Engineering Technicians to join our team in Vaughan.
The Engineering Technician will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the testing process in the field and laboratory. Under the supervision of project managers, laboratory managers, or scheduling coordinator, the Engineering technician’s main responsibilities are (but not limited to):

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Monitor the quality of construction building materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt) and observe the application according to the requirements of the plans, specifications, and standards.

Perform tests in the field and in the laboratory on construction materials to assess their quality.

Prepare samples for appropriate tests.
-
Ensure accuracy of test data.
-
Write technical memos and site visit reports.
-
Maintain equipment and laboratory in good condition.
-
Liaison with clients, contractors and attend site meetings.
-
Knowledge of ASTM/CCIL/MTO testing procedure.
REQUIREMENTS:​
-
College diploma in Civil Engineering (an asset)
-
Interested in teamwork, autonomous, and organized
-
Good physical condition
-
Valid driver’s license and a vehicle
-
Ability to work out of town and work different shifts as scheduling requires
-
CSA/CCIL Certification for Asphalt or Concrete is an asset (candidates will be given first considerations)
-
General knowledge of construction materials
-
Attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude
